Trip Hawkins decided to join a company in Barcelona and stunned the video game industry. The creator of gaming behemoth Electronic Arts (EA) has been appointed as Games For A Living‘s new chief strategy officer and board member.

This information surprised everyone. The creator of one of the biggest video game creation firms, Electronic Arts (EA), has joined a developing Web3 gaming studio. He received an opportunity to join the board and serve as the chief strategy officer of Games For A Life (GFAL). The firm in Barcelona will be able to profit from the former Apple executive’s experience. The studio will be able to reach a large audience thanks to the part given to Hawkins.

Trip Hawkins Partners up with Manel Sort

Trip Hawkins was honored by GFAL CEO Manel Sort, who praised him for the amazing personality he portrays. The latter views Hawkins as “one of the finest visionaries in the gaming industry” and the “father of contemporary video game publishing.”

Hawkins and Manel Sort initially spoke in 2007, according to Sort. Before they became widely used a decade later, he was already discussing NFTs at the time. Of course, the CEO of GFAL is thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with a figure that has contributed significantly to the development of the gaming business for many years.

Games For A Living is Surely in Good Hands

Being coworkers at Digital Chocolate, the two had known one another for a while. In King Barcelona, the second-largest game production firm in the world, Manuel Sort occupied senior roles with Hawkins.

Early in 2020, Games For A Living‘s pre-seed was finished under the direction of Inveready and Bonsai Partners. They created games for the general public with the intention of promoting the widespread adoption of blockchain technologies. Elemental Raiders, the company’s first free-to-play role-playing strategy game, was made possible thanks to this effort. Trip Hawkins also discussed his decision to become the chief strategy officer of a startup after serving as CEO of a prosperous business.
